John Rimmer – the Grimsby Fishman in a van
John arrives in Avonfields Close between 8.30 am and 8.45 am on Friday mornings. He then stays in village for half an hour – moving on from Avonfields Close to Ferry Lane, past pub, left down Poplar Terrace to stop outside Woodlands. Then past the Malthouse and up Alveston Lane where he stops again.
Next stop after Alveston is Hunscote Farm Shop where he stays for an hour between 10.00 am and 11.00 am.

Free Bus Service to Tescos
Johnsons run a Free Bus Service to Tescos on a Monday morning . It leaves the bus shelter in the middle of the village ( opp Ferry Lane ) at 11.17am and returns at 1.30 pm from Tescos , arriving back in Alveston at 1.43pm.
Alveston Village Association Angling Club
35 fishermen currently belong to AVAAC and the fees are £20 / year to join – reduced to £12 for the over 65′s and under 14′s.All fishermen are required to have a rod licence.
